When most of the think about intelligence they consider mental abilities but that is not end of the road considering intelligence there is an other type of intelligence too, that can have far greater influence than the IQ(intelligent quotient) and that is EQ(emotional quotient).
Understanding how it really matters and specially in modern era where we are bombarded with different thoughts and propaganda, manipulations by Media, Movies, Electronic games, Ads all the time causing a great Toll or damage on our Emotional intelligence.

Daniel Goleman
described emotional intelligence as a person’s ability to manage his feelings so that those feelings are expressed appropriately and effectively. According to Goleman, emotional intelligence is the largest single predictor of success in the workplace.
working with emotional intelligence with proper emotional intelligence skills and having emotional intelligence in the workplace can lead a person to attain primal leadership.
According to denial goleman- Primal leadership refers to the emotional dimension of leadership. We argue that a leader’s primal task is an emotional one—to articulate a message that resonates with their followers’ emotional reality, with their sense of purpose—and so to move people in a positive direction. Leadership, after all, is the art of getting work done through other people.
Emotional intelligence assessment is with the help of emotional quotient which is likewise general intelligence is calculated by IQ test or intelligence quotient. It became popular with the book of Daniel goleman “Emotional Intelligence – Why it can matter more than IQ (1995)”.
I really pondered over on this concept and what is the relationship between EQ and IQ. We always consider success natural to those with higher IQ but if low EQ is present in a person with higher IQ he/she could Err and end up whole project with failure.
According to Goleman emotional intelligence has five concepts related to it:-
- Self-awareness.
- Self-regulation.
- Motivation.
- Empathy.
- Social skills.
In emotional self awareness things matter are, how yo feel and how others feel by your influence in leadership it helps with calculation of strength and weaknesses.
Self regulation is about keeping control on yourself from rushed judgement, keeping up with others, not to stereotype and avoid emotional decisions.
Motivation is an emotion and not only emotion but also key to quality and handwork people with low EQ have less motivation than people with high EQ.
Empathy is not only a key for leader to win hearts but also to understand others leading to understanding of their work.
Social skills refers to the connection that a leader have with its people and who have this skills are great communicators, diplomacy and work oriented goal is addition to it.
In modern era are emotions are effected continuously as due to advancement of technology, we listen to sad music we becomes sad, we listen to music with positive vibes we becomes happy. we play violent games somehow we becomes violent or gets accustomed to it. what trend a film hero flows we follow.
This thing can be dangerous in a long term with emotional intelligence one can cover it easily, but these things are decreasing our own emotional intelligence. the freedom of man is its thinking, people follow what is on media and can be influenced easily by Net series and movies whether its good or bad.
a leader can not be influenced by others because he has a own set of thinking and ideology and that’s important in an leadership position, controlling emotion so right decision can be taken, know how other feels and anticipate for the good of all.
in the end right decisions matters for the achievement of goals wrong decisions can hinder achievements in life and right decisions are achievable with the contributing force of high EQ.
